Our family desert tours are private, gently paced trips to the Erg Chebbi dunes at Merzouga, built around what actually works with children: shorter driving segments with regular stops, an optional (short) camel ride, an en-suite desert camp with real beds and hot showers, and a pool back at the hotel. A 3-day family tour from Marrakech starts from €450 per person, with reduced rates for children.

Are Morocco desert tours suitable for young children?

Yes — families are some of our happiest guests. The tours are private, so we set the pace to your kids, stop whenever they need to, and never rush. The camel ride is short and optional (little ones can ride with a parent, or we drive everyone to camp by 4x4). Children love the sand, the pool and the camp night.

For young children or grandparents, the 4-day tour is ideal — the same highlights spread over an extra day, with time to swim and rest.

Is the camel ride safe for kids?

Yes. The camels are calm, the ride is short (about an hour at sunset) and always led on foot by our guide. Small children ride in front of a parent, and anyone who prefers not to ride is driven to the camp by 4x4. Helmets are provided for quad biking.

What about the long drive with children?

Because your tour is private, we break the journey with plenty of stops — Aït Ben Haddou, the gorges, tea and photo breaks and lunch. Bring snacks, downloaded shows and a small pillow; most kids nap through the longer stretches and love the mountain and desert scenery.
