It's a family-run hotel right at the foot of the sand sea, with air-conditioned double, triple and quadruple rooms from about €60 per night, and it's the same family that runs the desert camp and the Sahara tours.
Does the hotel really have a swimming pool?
It does — an outdoor pool in the courtyard, a rare and very welcome thing this close to the dunes. After a morning in the desert you can cool off with the golden sand rising just beyond the wall. There's also a rooftop terrace for sunset views over Erg Chebbi and mint tea.
How far is the hotel from the Erg Chebbi dunes?
About a two-minute walk. The hotel sits at the very edge of the sand, so you can step out of the pool, walk to the top of a dune for sunset and be back for dinner. The camel treks and our luxury desert camp start right from here.
